I don't like arguments, I hate confrontation, but there sure seems much of it floating about at the Poppins household lately. Today there was a little spat with my 8 year old daughter. A little shouting from her, a lot of shouting from me, many a foot stamped, and tears = one upset 8 year old, and a very upset 36 year old. Both need to cool off a while, I, sit and fester....
She, goes at pick me flowers, her eyes still swollen and puffy, and brings them to me in a pretty jam jar and says....
" Mummy I am sorry"....
I thought I was supposed to be the grown up....
Hugs

LOL, I know that feeling, only my boys don't pick me flowers!
ReplyDeleteAwwww that was a cute moment in the end. xxx
ReplyDeleteoh mary, we can all learn so much from our children xx
ReplyDeleteJess was once like that, till she hit the tweenie years lol.
ReplyDeleteYou've obviously bought her up well.
Did you cry hunni?

Ahhh that all sounds very normal the small rows. It's only natural when we all spend so long with our families disagreements occur, but once everyone makes up that's all that matters and you were extra lucky to get some lovely flowers too to show how much you are loved :)
ReplyDeleteAll things nice...
Aww bless her - like Serenata I don't get flowers. However we always hug & make up - don't like bad feeling lasting too long.
ReplyDeleteAmazing power of flowers and very considerate 8 year old, you are blessed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet angel.
ReplyDeleteOh how cute!
ReplyDeleteYou have taught her well and so happy you two have made up! bet you were so touched.
Love Kristina XxX
That's a lovely ending. I've found that I'm learning to think a bit more about how I FEEL when I cause rows - emotional literacy, I suppose it is. Sounds like your daughter's doing well on the emotional literacy, and she must have learned it somewhere..!
ReplyDeleteUgh, we all have moments like that. How sweet that she picked you flowers. Hope you are having a better day now.

Sorry that you had a spat with your darling daughter!!! She obviously loves her mummy a lot!!! And you have made up!!! The flowers are gorgeous too!! She has good taste!!
ReplyDeleteAwww! That's so lovely. What a wonderful little girl she must be.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 year old daughter offers to sing me a song when I'm cross with her (always Twinkle Twinkle) which just makes my heart melt every time!
How blessed we mothers are. xx
Wow, I filled up! What a special little thing you have created.

What a beautiful gesture!
ReplyDeleteawe! i know the feeling....
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic, you have certainly bought her up very well. I bet your heart melted!
ReplyDeleteI have a rather nasty MIL who REFUSES to apologise for anything (cannot say the sorry word apparently). I therefore spend quite a lot of time telling the Little People that we all say and do things that we then regret, but the most important thing is saying sorry afterwards. What a shame more 'grown-ups' don't take their lead from your daugher?xxx
ReplyDeleteAw, don't you just love 'em?
ReplyDeleteB x
Nice flowers though.
ReplyDeleteHope your all smiling now..x
Thats very sweet!
ReplyDeleteEm xx
She sounds like a sweetie! I suspect you are all a little upset at the moment. She sounds like a very sensible and thoughtful little girl xxxx
ReplyDeleteYes, I have been there. I too hate arguments with my daughter. What a lovely gesture from your little one. We are o blessed to have our children (even if they do drive us crackers some of the time.) Don't be hard on yourself, it's a big time of year for you all. xx
ReplyDeletethe best thing about arguments is the making up afterwards
ReplyDeletewhat a sweetie
That is soo sweet, what a lovely daughter you have, you must be so proud. xx
ReplyDeleteHi, I have left an award for you on my blog. SueXX
ReplyDeleteShe couldn't have chosen flowers with more meaning. I was very much like your daughter at that age. My Mum used to call me a steam train, as I would get so worked up. Don't worry, you and your daughter will always be the best of friends, just like me and my Mum were. x
ReplyDeleteAwww sniff. That's what being a mummy's all about. You were right to put your foot down though, so don't feel bad!
