Thank you so much for all your lovely comments, I do feel truly blessed to have had such a special son, I only wish he could have been with us a little longer.

Oh what a rainy, rainy day have you ever seen so much rain. I quite like the sound of rain it reminds me of caravan holidays when I was little, you know that pelting sound of the rain on the roof. What I needed today was to find some gorgeous Emma Bridgewater at a good price.

I allowed myself a couple of treats from my little haul, and I am so pleased to have saved so much money.

I have to say a big thank you to Mr. Poppins for my delightful Birthday present, a beautiful art deco cabinet, it is also a writing bureau and I love it, and can't wait to fill it with all my lovelies.



Thank you Darling Husband, I love you so much, you are such a wonderful, caring man who makes me laugh many times a day, I appreciate everything you do for me and the children and I truly know how lucky I am to have you in my life. And more importantly, you let me indulge my love of all things floral, and you don't mind sleeping on flowery pillows.

Beautiful Wedding

August the 30th was a wonderful day for me, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Wedding of a couple who are very close to my heart. As it was not a local wedding for us, we packed the car up and went off to the Lakes. We enjoyed a two night break in Windermere and took the sights in of some lovely places. We didn't get too far when I remembered we were driving near a lovely old place that we had bought a fire surround from for our new home. It was having a holiday there until we could get a way of bringing it home, and I really wanted to take a photograph so I quickly ran in. Here it is our lovely 1920s oak surround, I hope you like it.



When we got to Windermere Miss. Poppins wanted to feed the swans on the Lake, so we walked into Bowness and the swans were enthusiastically fed.



Of course a woman needs to window shop so I had a little look round the pretty shops in Windermere.






We were attended to perfectly by Wills and Pauline at the Rayrigg Villa at Windermere, Pauline was off to pick up her award for Windermere in Bloom. Thank you for a lovely welcome and thanks Pauline for allowing me to take a couple of photographs.

So, on the day of the wedding I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Of course Master Poppins decided to fall into dreamy land in daddy's arms as we were to go in, and he woke up to see the wedding vows and the next time he napped was 10 pm. The Bride looked stunning in her dress, check out her handbag and shoes.





And then it was off to the most delightful home for the reception, a walk up a pretty drive and then you were greeted with the most beautiful home and gardens.









I came across a delightful little open door, I would loved to have known what was behind it.




Congratulations to the married couple, you know who you are and I love you lots.

So school in a couple of days, and now a question mark over Mr. Poppins' job, a big thank you to my shabby chic friends who have left lovely messages for us, means so much. He has worked for the same company for 14 years, and we have been here before although he kept his job then and now we are going to take the ride again, and find out in a couple of weeks.

A photograph to remind me what really is important and I wouldn't swap these for all the money in the world.

Birthdays, Memories, Milestones

I am really happy to be back here blogging and look forward to reading your blogs. You may know I have been at my mum's as the refurbishment has begun on my home sweet home. My bungalow now has stairs, the two children's loft bedrooms are taking shape, walls have been knocked down and put back up again and the scaffolding is up.

More importantly Master Poppins is now two and I wonder where the time has gone. He shares his birthday with my sister in law's little boy who was born full term whilst my son was eleven weeks early. Seeing them both turn two together moved me greatly. Master Poppins has done so well, and any of you who have had a premature baby yourself or know someone who has, know how hard it can be. I am being quite open with you now and have to say I spent a little while getting emotional on his birtday, looking back on everything, how tiny he was, how brave he his. Happy birthday my darling, funny, handsome little man I love you very much.

Thank you so much to all my Shabby chic friends who sent me birthday wishes also, really thank you it was a joy to read them.

A little makeover for you



I got this pretty cabinet for £25 at local reclamation, I have also bought a really nice oak dressing table and lovely art deco bureau from the same place and I soon shall be pondering whether to paint them or leave them natural. I decided to paint my little cabinet and have lined it with Laura Ashley in Oriental garden chalk pink

Oh and I am an Aunty, my sister had her third little girl on the 17th of August, I am so happy and really appreciate the new life, joy and happiness a baby brings. She was born in Cyprus where my sister lives and I can't wait to meet her....
